Quick color practice piece of AMAZON infantry trooper, Angela Martinez.

I've written quite a bit about this character, most notably as the POV character for the short Maid Wars story The Raid , but I've never gotten around to sitting down and drawing her.

Martinez started out as a low level office worker, working at a Benefactor embassy on the UCCE colony world of New Sebastian. Unknown to her, she as randomly placed on the exemption list for office staff, meaning that for the sake of appearances, she was actually not to be maidified. (Even the greediest robot has to concede that the mysterious disappearance of every intern, would be hard to explain.)

This changed however, when, while working late, Martinez stumbled upon the abduction in progress of someone not on the exemption list; disqualifying her own exempt status. The embassy Benefactors were profuse in their apologies as a profoundly confused Angela was trundled off to her new life.

Martinez was rescued five years later, during an AMAZON Maidevac operation, lead by Sergeant Major Wollingsworth. Soon enlisting in the resistance, Martinez has worked her way up the ranks and eventually become a friend and confidant to her pink, pigtailed savior.

Angela can be seen here, modeling a S.W.I.T.C.H., AMAZON's standard, anti drone, contradiction bombardment weapon. These devices are actually less weapons than they are transmitters that broadcast logic traps, which overload the processors of most lower to mid level artificial intellects. (Imagine being able to fire off 100 William Shatner monologues, with every pull of the trigger.)

In their ongoing war against the FMP, soldiers like Martinez are a common sight on the front lines.
