Growing up in the machine-filled halls of Dean Aerospace and often neglected by its diffident engineering staff, Rebecca Dean found herself more identifying with the calculating and precise mechanisms turned out by the company, than their flawed and imperfect inventors.

As such, the young woman eventually became involved with the Mechalyte Ministry, a cult that believes in the divinity of all things mechanical.

A growing source of volunteer maids, the Mechalytes actually preach that maidification is in fact a sanctified commune with a celestial entity known as the Divine Machine.

Rebecca is shown above, in her Pilgrim's Frock; a garment worn by Mechalytes in publc displays, meant to attract interested robots and facilitate their "deliverance." Her mask and hood are drawn down here to reveal her face.

The antenna on the frock is said to be a device that signals the deliverance, but in actuality it serves no real function. The sight of women dressed thus is a more than sufficient gesture.
